MARK SHEPPARD IN SHERLOCK

Yeah that’s right, pay attention bitches.

I haven’t been on this account for a while (busy busy etc etc) but yesterday I went to London Film and Comic Con (I walked past Karen Gillan and also stalked Natalia Tena through a crowd. </creeper>), and have some news that warrants a post…

During Mark Sheppard’s talk (oh goodness he’s charming), he made some flippant comment like “I just want to be in Sherlock!" after a question about Moffat/Doctor Who/the BBC. Naturally everyone cheered and my friends and I squee’d in our little hearts.

Anyway, later one of our group went to get his autograph, and we all bombarded his signing desk with "OMG HI PLEASE BE IN SHERLOCK TALK TO MOFF DO IT PLEASE DO IT FUCKING FUCK JUST WAT".

He told us to calm down.

But then he said “Well, I did write to Gatiss… The other characters in this series [ie the one coming in September] are too small but for Moriarty, so I’m hoping that next year…”

OKAY SO BREATHE:

Two points!

1) SOUNDS LIKE REICHENBACH ISN’T THE END. Negative thinking be gone.

2) MARK SHEPPARD MIGHT HAVE A PART AND THERE WILL BE SEXUAL TENSION SPEWING ALL OVER THE PLACE AND EVERYTHING WILL BE 100% HETEROSEXUAL, GUARANTEED, IF NOT YOUR MONEY BACK. Terms and conditions apply.

Also hi everyone.

Obviously it’s Sherlock’s show but there’s far more parity than I think there often is in that relationship. I know [creators] Steven [Moffat] and Mark [Gatiss] primarily wanted the show to be about that relationship as much if not more than anything else.

[It’s about the relationship] and how it develops and how it changes and the things that wind each other up, the things that they genuinely sort of love about each other as well. It’s the gayest story in the history of television… People certainly run with that which I’m quite happy with! But we all saw it as a love story. Not just a love story, but those two people who do love each other - a slightly dysfunctional relationship sometimes, but a relationship that works. They get results.
